Our debut video travel log covers the first 24 hours of our trip, from the kickoff at the Venetian in Las Vegas to our Road MIX user group presentation in Salt Lake City. The video took a bit longer than anticipated to get out (due to various publishing and connectivity issues, and also needing to do our laundry) but it's finally here for you to enjoy.

In this video are several people who helped send off the bus, as well as the Code Trip crew on the bus from the very first moments the bus started rolling. We walk through the bus and talk about some of the software on board.

We have a ton of video recorded from the past few days that will be following this one... stay tuned!

Great first video! I really like the opening animation. Makes me wish I would have rode from Boise to Missoula, but I had already been away from the family for a few days. Thanks for stopping here in Missoula. It was a good time. I hope the hippies at the U didn't heckle you too much.

Loved the video. Great opening animation, as Lance Fisher said. Nice background music. Being not a native english speaker, also enjoyed the legends (with names and titles) very much. With regard to the embeded player, loved the volume control and the lapsed time (left) and remaining time (right). They only problem I faced was that The Code Trip freezes Firefox 2, so I had to open it on Internet Explorer.

Is that a double deck bus? If so, what's in upstairs? -- Luciano Evaristo Guerche (Gorše) Taboão da Serra, SP, Brazil

Hey Luciano -- we'll check on the Firefox issue, it's been running okay for me but I'm on Silverlight 2 Beta 1. Thanks for letting us know. The bus is a single level, but really cozy. :) Check out the Channel 9 "cribs" video (found in this travel log as well) for some more on-bus video.

Woody, nice interviewing skills...I see you still have that cold!

Thanks Frankie, I am loving getting to do the interviews. Will miss being on the bus for a while but I will be back.

Hey Jason, while you're checking stuff, you might want to look at the site in IE6. How I long for the day IE6 is gone. Actually, I'm just waiting for the world to upgrade to IE8 and FF3! Rendering problems like that are why I'm excited IE8 passes Acid 2.

Guys: Great first video! I'll be put some national promo up for you in the Monday communique to DPE - get those folk following your antics. And Woody - good stand up work...if you need any pointers I used to do documentaries...can I get on the bus now????

Lance, when the design firm gave us transparent PNGs to use as part of the site design (which I love), I pretty much gave up on supporting IE6. The hacks necessary to make that stuff work right on older browsers is pain I didn't want to bear. Latest versions of IE and Firefox are what I test with. I heard there's an issue with the legend overlay on Safari, but that's another story.

Sweeet guys ... can't wait to check the bus out! Hope the road doesn't wear you out too much :) jas
